Manning Environmental Law is  a leading Canadian  environmental law firm based in downtown Toronto. Our practice is focussed on environmental, energy, aboriginal, climate change and planning law. We write regularly on these topics  in our blog Environmental Law Bites, which you can read here

Paul Manning is the principal of Manning Environmental Law and  an Environmental Law Specialist, Certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada. He has been named as one of the World’s Leading Environmental Lawyers by Who’s Who Legal: 2016.

We cover the full range of environmental legal work, including contaminated land litigation and advice; defence to government enforcement orders and prosecutions; difficult approval applications; appeals to tribunals; and advice on compliance, transactional and liability issues.

We leverage our expertise to allow us to handle substantial matters. For example, we regularly work in conjunction with professional firms from other disciplines, such as environmental engineering and urban planning consultancies.

We have established relationships with trusted external lawyers to work on matters which justify a broader legal team. Similarly, we regularly work in collaboration with clients’ existing law firms to provide environmental law expertise to complement their own practice areas.

Manning Environmental Law brings a fresh and creative approach, founded on our considerable experience and expertise, to help clients manage and resolve environmental legal issues .
