Ontario Implements Changes to Regional Planning and Siting of Large Energy Infrastructure Projects

This announcement comes on the same day that Ontario’s Auditor-General released her Special Report on costs wasted in the cancellation of the proposed Oakville gas plant. (See our post Ontario Government Decision To Move Gas Plant May Cost More Than $675 Million: Auditor General)

Without any apparent sense of irony,  Minister of Energy,  Bob Chiarelli said of the announcement, ” We want to get these decisions right, and we are committed to ensuring communities have their say right from the start.”
